Paint Shop Technician – Industrial/Auto-Body

Canobie Lake Park has maintained the highest standards of family entertainment for over 100 years and is currently seeking a positive self-motivated paint shop technician to join our maintenance team. No two days are alike in this role as one day you may be refinishing a fiberglass roller coaster car body while the next you could be painting and protecting a recent fence repair made by our welders. This is a full-time year-round position with benefits.

Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and finishing various parts and equipment
  • Cleaning parts and removing previous finishes
  • Operating a sand blasting cabinet and needle scaler
  • Smoothing surfaces using hand sanding and power sanders
  • Protecting unpainted surfaces by masking
  • Performing repairs by use of epoxy compounds, fiberglass resins, body filler or other suitable materials to fill breaks, cracks and/or joints in surfaces that will be painted
  • Dismantling and reassembling parts and equipment using basic hand tools provided by Canobie Lake Park
  • Wearing proper PPE including but not limited to, various types of respirators, eye protection and ear protection
  • Working in various indoor and outdoor environments
  • Working at heights
  • This is a physical position involving bending over, lifting, kneeling, climbing ladders and navigating stairs

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining cleanliness of work area, tools and equipment
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English sufficiently to perform the key duties of this position
  • Willingness to work varied shifts and schedules including occasional weekends
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and submit to criminal background check
  • Other duties as assigned

Preferred experience:

  • 1+ years in an industrial, auto-body or similar paint shop position
  • Use of HVLP spray guns
  • Basecoat/clearcoat application
  • Single stage paint application
  • Brushing or rolling latex and oil paint

Amusement Park Ride Mechanic

Responsibilities include:

  • Daily safety inspections of amusement rides
  • Perform required preventive maintenance
  • Trouble shoot and repair amusement rides and their subsystems
  • Maintain proper records for all inspections, maintenance and repairs
  • Perform the necessary work while following Canobie’s safety guidelines
  • Work at heights up to 80ft
  • This is a physical position involving bending over, lifting, kneeling, climbing ladders and navigating stairs

Requirements:

  • Mechanic tools (toolbox, wrenches, sockets, pliers, etc.)
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • 1+ year of mechanical job experience
  • High degree of mechanical aptitude with focus on safety
  • Effective oral and written communication
  • Comprehension of safety and policy practices
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Must work 40+ hours during the operating season
  • Must be able to pass a D.O.T medical exam
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Must pass a criminal background check

Master/Journeyman Electrician

Responsibilities include:

  • Inspecting and maintaining electrical infrastructure throughout the park
  • Inspecting and maintaining electrical systems on amusement rides and devices
  • Troubleshooting electrical related issues
  • Installing and programming electrical drives
  • Repairing and refurbishing electrical components
  • Maintain proper records for all inspections, maintenance and repairs
  • Wearing proper PPE
  • Working in various indoor and outdoor environments in all weather conditions
  • Working at heights up to 85 feet
  • This is a physical position involving bending over, heavy lifting, kneeling, climbing and navigating stairs
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Strong electrical and/or mechanical aptitude
  • Valid New Hampshire Master/Journeyman Electrical License or the ability to obtain within sixty days of hire
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English sufficiently to perform the key duties of a Maintenance Electrician
  • Provide your own hand tools
  • Willingness to work varied shifts and schedules including nights and weekends
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and submit to:
    • Criminal background check
    • Motor vehicle operators check o Pre-employment physical
    • Pre-employment drug test

Preferred experience:

  • Formal electrical and/or mechanical training is preferred but not required
  • Familiarity with high voltage distribution systems is preferred but not required

Apprentice Electrician

Responsibilities include:

  • Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, repair and refurbish electrical systems for the entire park including buildings, amusement rides, and devices
  • Perform inspections of electrical systems for rides and attractions and report any unsafe/deficient conditions to a supervisor immediately
  • Maintain proper records for all inspections, maintenance and repairs
  • Maintain a clean work area, have a professional appearance and attitude, and be alert at all times
  • Wear proper PPE
  • Working in various indoor and outdoor environments in all weather conditions
  • Willingness to work varied shifts and schedules including nights and weekends
  • Work at heights up to 85 feet
  • This is a physical position involving bending over, heavy lifting up to 100 lbs, kneeling, climbing and navigating stairs
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid New Hampshire licensed apprentice electrician or be enrolled in a qualified apprenticeship school program and be able to obtain apprentice electrician license within 60 days of hire
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English sufficiently to perform the key duties of this role
  • Provide your own hand tools
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and submit to:
    • Criminal background check
    • Motor vehicle operators check
    • Pre-employment physical
