Please note: Park admission ticket is required for all swimmers & Guests in addition to the mermaid experience ticket. A Mermaid Experience ticket is only needed for the swimming Guest. Each Guest will be permitted to have up to 4-non-swimming spectator Guests to accompany them on the experience.

We strongly recommend reading through each FAQ before purchasing a Mermaid Swim Experience ticket!
The Mermaid Swim Experience will take place on Fridays & Saturdays after Castaway Island closes from Friday, June 20, 2025 through Saturday, August 23, 2025.
The Mermaid Swim Experience is located in Castaway Island after Island closing. However, please check in prior to 6:30pm at the Island Trader Gift Shop located right outside of Castaway Island. After checking in with your Mermaid FIN-structor at Island Trader, your swimmer will change into their swimwear, and then you’ll meet our FIN-structor at 6:30pm over by the Giant Pineapple. From there, we will all walk over to the swim area together as a group!
Depending on the severity of the weather, we may cancel a Mermaid Swim Experience for the safety of our Guests and Team Members. In the event we do cancel, you will receive a call on the number you provided during your purchase to let you know that we have cancelled the swim. During this call you can either get a refund for your Swim Experience or, if there are other Mermaid Swim dates available, we can reschedule you to another date.
If you choose not to attend the Mermaid Swim Experience on your own, no refunds will be given.
Guests participating in the Swim (ages 4-12) will borrow our mono-fins, a pair of goggles, and a pool noodle to learn to swim like a real mermaid! Our swimmers will introduce themselves to the Mermaid, learn some mermaid lingo and go through a short swim test. If necessary, the swimmer will don a life jacket to ensure swim safety. Swimmers will learn the proper way to swim in mono-fins and learn all about Mer-Life! Once the experience is over, each swimmer will get an opportunity for an individual photo op with our mermaids!
A Mermaid Experience ticket is only needed for the swimming Guest when purchasing. Each Guest will be permitted to have up to 4 non-swimming spectator Guests to accompany them on the experience.

Swimmers – Bathing suit, towel, and a change of dry clothes! While it’s not required, you can also bring along a Coast Guard Certified life jacket and a pair of goggles (if your swimmer prefers a certain type).
Spectators – Phone/Camera to take a lot of pictures!
Mermaid Tails/Mono-Fins – No, we do not allow outside mermaid equipment into our pools. Swimmers may only use the Park provided mono-fin. Fabric tails are not permitted.
Goggles – Of course! While we provide a pair of goggles for your swimmer to borrow, if you swimmer prefers a certain type we certainly recommend bringing them along!
Life Jacket – As long as the life jacket itself reads “Coast Guard Certified”, then yes! Bring that along with you. If it does not have that stamp, we will provide you with a life jacket for the length of the swim experience.
The total run-time of the Mermaid Swim Experience is about an hour, from 6:30pm-7:30pm. You will also have access to our Castaway Island restrooms to change before going back into the Park.
We strongly recommend participants in the Mermaid Swim Experience have some familiarity with swimming in water as they will be expected to swim with and without a mono-fin.
No, we do not permit spectating Guests in the water with our mermaids and swimmers. Only swimmers and Mermaid Swim Experience Team Members are allowed in the water.
