ADMINISTRATION

Responsible for assisting in Office and Clerical daily activities for the Main Office at Canobie Lake Park including general administrative duties such as answering telephones, filing, sorting and delivering mail, fax/copies, etc. These duties are based off of Federal and State employment laws, Canobie security policies and guidelines, and department group practices. You will be expected to adhere to high level of professionalism and confidentiality during interactions with guests and applicants.

A frontline Team Member for applicants looking to pursue a job at Canobie Lake Park specifically charged with assisting the Personnel Manager with personnel duties. He/She works closely with every department to meet their needs and must fully abide confidentiality standards, federal and state employment laws, Canobie Lake Park personnel policies, security policies and guidelines and department group practices. The Team Member is also responsible for performing clerical functions, organize applications for department managers to review, making and receiving phone calls for various needs, creating weekly work schedules for the Rides & Aquatics Department and checking payroll.

Key duties and responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Specialist include:
- Receive and distribute incoming accounts payable invoices and related documents for approval
- Prepare and process invoices in QuickBooks, accurately and timely
- Review and verify Vendor Statements as needed
- Management of pending approved accounts payable
- Establish new vendors in accordance with company policies
- Identify and resolve any discrepancies between purchase orders and invoices
- Manage deposits made on required purchase orders
- Maintain 1099 vendor files for accuracy and up to date W9’s for tax reporting

Key duties and responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Assistant include:
- The Accounts Payable Assistant is responsible for assisting in Office, Accounts Payable and Clerical daily activities for the Main Office at Canobie Lake Park.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least one year of higher education preferred

AQUATICS

Responsible for maintaining the 10/20 protection standard and the safe and efficient operation of Castaway Island – an interactive water play area for all guests. In addition, the Lifeguard is responsible for the safe operation of one or more rides. The Ellis & Associates ILTP certification is required for this position. Training is provided. Candidates must be strong swimmers able to swim consecutively for 200 yards using the front crawl or breast stroke, tread water for 2 minutes without the use of hands and complete a feet-first surface dive to retrieve a brick from depths up to 9 feet and return to the surface as a pre-requisite to the lifeguard course. This is a physical position involving bending over and lifting as well as working in/or around water containing chlorine. Team Members must be willing to accept the responsibilities of working with the public.

Responsible for entertaining our Guests by performing as the giant, oversized costumed characters that roam our midways. Team Members will switch between wearing a costume and escorting a character on any given day. This is a physical position involving bending over, lifting and dressing in costume in warm conditions.

Members of the FunSquad entertain our Guests by performing in our on-site street team. They create impromptu dance parties throughout the park engaging with our Guests. This is a physical position involving bending over and lifting. Additional responsibilities include performing general line dances, working with drums and hula hoops, and engaging with our Guests through music and games.

Responsibilities include operate, maintain, troubleshoot and repair all audio systems, lighting systems and video systems at the Dancehall Theater, Midway Stage and Village Stage, support all efforts needed to operate shows including stage preparation/operation/teardown and equipment preparation/operation/teardown and work in conjunction with Park Management and show producers in achieving goals set forth for design, implementation and control.

Costumed Team Members who perform in their assigned haunt or area during Canobie Lake Park Screeemfest. This is a physical position involving bending over and lifting. Responsibilities include scaring our Guests in our haunts or midways while performing within the guidelines of our standard operating procedures, ensure smooth entry, occupancy and exit of all guests within your assigned haunt or area and support all efforts needed to operate haunts including preparation/operation/teardown as needed. Additional responsibilities include general operation of the Park’s haunted attractions, attending and assisting the presentation and execution of various Park events both on-site and off-site and interacting with Guests to provide an outstanding experience.

Responsibilities include consistent operation of all fog machines, sound systems, low-voltage lighting and special effects as related to our haunts and haunted attractions and support all efforts needed to operate haunts including preparation/operation/teardown as needed.
FOOD SERVICE

Operates a cash register (or equivalent), receives payments of cash, checks and charges from Guests or Team Members for goods or services, making change and issuing receipts. Additional responsibilities include providing the highest quality of guest service to our Guests, maintaining proper security of cash at all times, following cash handling policies and procedures, assisting in locating, reconciling and verifying the accuracy of transactions and operate equipment with peripheral electronic data processing. At times a Cashier may be required to prepare for service before the meal and clean the dining room after the meal (wiping tables, vacuuming the floor, cleaning chairs, ensuring the acceptable appearance of the dining area.), as well as setting up and stocking the beverage area or other assigned areas.

Serves and replenishes food from counters and steam tables and breaks down stations at the end of meal periods. Additional responsibilities include clean and sanitize work stations, counters, steam tables and other equipment, setting up stations with condiments and utensils, brewing coffee and tea, interaction with guests, reading recipes and/or product directions, estimating food requirements, operating a variety of kitchen utensils to weigh, measure, mix, wash, peel, cut, grind, stir, strain, season and knead ingredients for cooking, serving and storing, assisting in the preparation of foods, inspecting work stations for compliance with service standards, keeping records and requisition for supplies/equipment and operating a cash register (or equivalent), receiving payments of cash, checks and charges from Guests or Team Members for goods or services, making change and issuing receipts.

Additional responsibilities include answering phone calls to provide information concerning services as well as answering requests for information from Guests and Team Members, following all security and safety procedures requited by the client, may be required to provide additional clerical assistance (filing, paperwork etc.)

Receives, lifts, moves, stores, issues, counts, sorts, weighs and verifies items on requisitions or invoices, returns damaged items or other items to vendors that do not meet our specifications, fills orders, issues supplies from stock, rotates stock, maintains cleanliness and orderliness of storage areas by sweeping and mopping, provides security for all stock in the storeroom and/or refrigerator/freezer, follows all safety requirements of the facility, local, state and federal jurisdictions, may be required to move or transports materials or supplies to other departments using hand or industrial trucks.
GAMES

Responsible for the friendly, organized and efficient operation of games in the Park. Team Members must be willing to accept the responsibilities of working directly with the public. Responsibilities include developing proficiency in guest relations and handle all guests matters with the utmost respect, demonstrate enthusiasm, politeness and a positive attitude in all interactions with Guests and fellow Team Members, have complete knowledge of game operation as outlined in the departments Standard Operating Procedures, handling money, record keeping of prizes distributed and cleaning game areas.

Responsible for receiving, storing, delivering and tracking merchandise for the Games Department. This is a physical position involving extensive walking, standing, lifting (must be able to lift 50 lbs), use of stairs/ladders and working at heights. Responsibilities include receiving and unloading truck shipments of merchandise, transporting merchandise to and from the warehouse and game locations, counting, tracking and recording the movement of large amounts of merchandise, comprehending, following and completing Purchase Orders, Bills of Lading, Count Sheets, Invoices, Pull and Transfer requests, Inbound and Outbound Delivery Logs etc., Differentiating many varieties of merchandise by shape, size, color, name and inventory number, organizing warehouse inventory, maintaining the safety and cleanliness of the warehouse and operating vehicles (must have valid driver’s license.
GUEST SERVICES

Responsible for the safe, secure, efficient and accurate control of Guests that visit the park each day. The main focus is to provide the best guest service to our Guests by welcoming, assisting and ensuring that you are attentive to them at all times. The position requires you to work outdoors in all weather conditions and is physical in nature, as you are required to be on your feet for most of the day. Additional responsibilities include examining tickets to verify authenticity, interacting with guests and handling their comments/complaints in a prompt and friendly manner, settling ticket disputes, assist guests with general park information and actively manage admission lines to ensure the most efficient entry times.

Responsible for all inquiries from Guests visiting the park. This includes resolving a variety of guest concerns and comments, answering phone calls, facilitating and overseeing unique sales transactions including ticket sales and returns. Additional responsibilities include assisting Guests needing special services and accommodations, supervising a staff of 30-40 Team Members as well as cross-training in cashiering and gate attendant duties, making ticket sales including group sales, return and adjustments, providing general information about the park to our Guests and assisting in selling rental equipment.

Responsible for selling all admission tickets for the park. Must be able to work quickly, efficiently and accurately in addition to providing a Guest Services friendly attitude with our Guests at all times. Cashiers must be naturally calm, focused and have basic math skills. Additional responsibilities include accurately processing all transactions, handling money and general accounting procedures, have knowledge of all promotions, discounts and offers and resolving all Guest concerns.
MAINTENANCE

Responsible for providing maintenance expertise to the various attractions at Canobie Lake Park to ensure the safe operation of the Rides for our Team Members and Guests. This is a physical position involving bending over, lifting, kneeling and in some cases navigating stairs. Duties include inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, repair and refurbish amusement rides and their subsystems, ensure all rides and equipment comply with all Canobie Lake Park Corp. and equipment manufacturers’ operating standards and requirements, perform visual and auditory inspections of rides and attractions, maintain proper records for all inspections, maintenance and repairs, and accept responsibilities of working directly with the public.

Responsible for the cleanliness and sanitary operation of one or more of the restroom facilities at Canobie Lake Park. This position involves working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, interacting with the public, and is a physical position involving bending over, lifting, and navigating stairs. Responsibilities for this critical role in maintaining our high standard of cleanliness and safety in the restroom facilities include cleaning and sanitizing toilets, urinals, sinks, stalls, sink faucets, mirrors and windows, counter tops, hand dryers, door handles, toilet paper and soap dispensers, and moping floors. Also emptying and replacing trash liners in and immediately around restroom facility and replacing paper and sanitary products as needed.

Responsible for the cleanliness of the Park and its surrounding grounds prior to Park opening. Cleaning is completed in the morning prior to park opening and involves working outdoors for the entire shift in all weather conditions. This is a physical position involving bending over, lifting, kneeling and in some cases navigating stairs. Duties include picking up trash inside the Park and around the parking lot, emptying trash receptacles, washing trash receptacles, servicing designated Smoking Pavilions.

Responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of Canobie Lake Park’s beautiful and historic grounds. It is a critical position that ensures the grounds remain in perfect condition throughout each day to ensure the utmost satisfaction of our Guests. This position involves working outdoors in all weather conditions and is physical in nature including bending over, lifting and in some cases navigating stairs. Additional responsibilities include interaction with guests, clearing trash and debris from park midways, paths, grass, shrubs, mulch beds etc, emptying trash receptacles, occasionally performing biohazard cleanup, collecting food service trays to bring to closest food stand and attending to designated smoking areas to ensure cleanliness.

Responsible for maintenance and cleanliness of Canobie Lake Park’s historic landscape. This is a physical position involving bending over, lifting, kneeling and in some cases navigating stairs. Duties include leaf blowing and raking, weed whacking, mowing grass and pulling weeds, planting flowers, shrubs, small trees along with other plants, spreading mulch and stone, pressure washing, pruning, watering and deadheading flowers as well as any other activity necessary to maintaining the Park’s natural beauty.
RETAIL

Responsible for a friendly and efficient operation of retail locations in the Park. Additional responsibilities include processing sales while handling money, maintaining a clean location, being familiar with each location’s merchandise and interactions with Guests. This is a physical position that includes lifting, standing for extended periods of time and bending over.
RIDES

Responsible for the safety of guests and co-workers in a specific outdoor ride area in all weather conditions. A Ride Attendant is also responsible for interacting with Guests, checking their heights, checking their restraints and securing loose articles prior to a ride cycle as well as monitoring a ride cycle during operation. This is a physical condition involving bending over, lifting and in some cases navigating stairs.

Responsible for the safety of guests and co-workers in a specific outdoor ride area during a ride cycle in all weather conditions. The Ride Operator takes on the responsibility of a Ride Attendant as well as overlooking the duration of the ride cycle in a safe manner by following the standard operating procedure for the specific ride. This is a physical condition involving bending over, lifting and in some cases navigating stairs.

Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of Canobie Lake Park’s 40-foot pontoon boat, the Blue Heron. The Blue Heron is operated with the assistance of a dock attendant and rope handler and involves working outdoors the entire shift in various weather conditions. This is a physical condition involving bending over, lifting and in some cases navigating stairs. A valid Commercial Boating License is required to operate the Blue Heron. The Park will coordinate your training courses and Commercial Boating License exam.
SECURITY & EMS

Protects the assets of Canobie Lake Park via foot, mobile and post patrol ensuring our guests and employees have a safe and enjoyable experience. Responsibilities include interacting with guests, maintaining a high visible presence through foot patrols and through select stationary positions (posts) throughout the park, identify and report safety and security hazards, enforce park rules, regulations and guidelines to ensure safety, write clear, concise, timely, effective reports of incidents when applicable, properly utilize two-way radios and telephones to effectively communicate with counterparts, supervisors and park management, reunite lost children and personal belongings, assist in placement and removal of barricades and cones and the opening and closing of gates for the purpose of directing pedestrian and vehicular traffic, conducts traffic direction and control when needed, comply with Team Member guidelines, departmental SOP’s and General Orders.

Protect the assets of Canobie Lake Park during the overnight hours by guarding, patrolling and monitoring the premises to prevent theft, fire, violence and other crimes or infractions of rules. Responsibilities include interacting with guests, patrol premises by foot and vehicle to prevent and detect signs of intrusion or fire and ensure security of doors, windows and gates, answer alarms and investigate disturbances, operate Detex devices as per policy during routine patrol of premises, write reports of daily activities and incident reports for irregularities, monitor, authorize and record entrance and departure of employees and visitors, answering the phone for various situations, inspect and adjust security systems, equipment and machinery, follow Team Member guidelines and departmental SOP’s and General Orders.

Responsible for treating Guests and Team Members for health problems and injuries. Responds to emergencies and gives basic first aid. Completes and submits required reports concisely and on time to the appropriate personnel. NREMT and State of New Hampshire EMT Certification required. Responsibilities include treating injuries or illness using basic life support techniques. These may include: Cardiopulmonary resuscitation, airway management, controlling bleeding, bandaging wounds, splinting of fractured or dislocated bones and joints, administration of oxygen, traction splinting and the use of oral glucose, determines the nature and extent of illness or injury present and establishes the priorities for emergency care, extricates patients from entrapment, performs triaging of patients, lifts and moves patients, completes and submits detailed and timely documentation on patient care as required, use appropriate park policies, state and federal regulations pertaining to EMS, confined space, hazardous materials, incident command system, blood borne pathogens, airborne pathogens and controlled substances, maintain clean, restocks emergency supplies and equipment including FA building and FA cart, prepares and delivers hydration to Team Members when directed.

Under the direction of the parking lot supervisor, sets up the parking lot in the proper traffic configuration following the prescribed Condition of the Day and directs vehicular movement in the parking lot as safely, quickly and efficiently as possible by following the prescribed Traffic Management Plan. Responsibilities include providing guest service, follow procedures for parking guests utilizing hand and arm traffic, identifies and reports safety and security hazards, assists in the placement and removal of signs, barricades and cones and the opening and closing of gates for the purpose of directing pedestrian and vehicular traffic.

Event Security personnel assist during special events and during our Halloween event.

Help to provide a safe and secure environment for Canobie Lake Park by performing security-screening measures at entry points to ensure no unauthorized items enter the property. Perform bag checks and other inspections using provided technology. Turnstile Security Agents exhibit exceptional customer service skills and continuous positive interaction with all individuals, including guests, vendors, and other team members. Demonstrate safety and integrity at all times. Works closely with Guest Services to understand the various service standards of the hospitality industry.

Most positions at Canobie Lake Park require the applicant to be at least 16 years of age. Select departments may hire for a limited number of positions beginning at 14 & 15 years of age.
